Jake Paul accused of performing “smoke and mirrors act” with two-fight boxing and MMA offer to Nate Diaz by ex-UFC champ

JAKE PAUL has been accused of performing a “smoke and mirrors” act with his recent offer to Nate Diaz.

The Problem Child challenged the former UFC star to a two-fight series – one in boxing and the other in MMA – after announcing his multi-year deal with the Professional Fighters League.

Jake Paul recently revealed he’d inked a deal with the PFL

The Problem Child immediately made a public feeling for Nate Diaz

Paul’s pursuit of Diaz has been slammed by ex-UFC champ Michael Bisping

Paul’s willingness to fight Diaz in the cage impressed many, but not former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping – who reckons the YouTuber is trying to dodge a legitimate fight in the boxing world.

During a recent episode of his Believe You Me podcast, The Count said: ” “Now, Nate Diaz, he’s a decent boxer, he’s as tough as they come, he’s got great jiu-jitsu, but he’s not known for being the best wrestler.

“So maybe, could he take Jake Paul down? Is Nate Diaz at the end of his career?

“This is all smoke and mirrors.

“This is all just Jake Paul trying to navigate the waters of how he can continue to make money.

“He can’t do it in boxing because in boxing if he’s going to have a big boxing fight, it has to be against a real boxer and a real boxer would more than likely beat him, which is not what they want.

“He can’t continue calling up former UFC legends that are retired because that’s not doing it anymore either.”

Paul has gone a perfect 6-0 thanks to consecutive wins over former UFC welterweight and middleweight champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

But the ex-Disney star had a marked size advantage over the pair and former Bellator champ Ben Askren, which Bisping believes he’s trying to utilise against Diaz.

He added: “The point I’m making is he’s never fought a boxer.

“But even still, these former UFC legends, they’re not pulling in the pay-per-view numbers.

“So now he’s going to have to fight mixed martial arts, which on paper makes it sound like Jake Paul is doing the right thing.

“He’s being courageous, he’s willing to switch sports.

Nate Diaz signed off from the UFC with a submission win over Tony Ferguson

“But he’s not. It’s going to be hand-picked opponents.

“Nate Diaz in a boxing match first that’ll be co-promoted by the PFL.

“And then mixed martial arts, again, yeah Nate Diaz is the better mixed martial artist for sure, but size is a real thing.”

Diaz seemingly poured cold water on the prospect of facing Paul in the PFL by tweeting the logo for Japanese MMA promotion RIZIN hours after the call out.

Fan favourite Diaz is currently a free agent after seeing out his UFC contract with a fourth-round submission victory over Tony Ferguson last September

How To

Here are some basic skills in boxing

How to box efficiently

Boxing is a popular sport. Two opponents fight each other to the death. There are different rules for boxing, and they vary from one country to the next. There are three main types of boxing: Amateur boxing, Professional boxing, and Olympic boxing.

Amateur boxing is usually practiced at school, college or university. This type includes sparring sessions using padded gloves, but without protection. Amateur boxing contests are usually three rounds in length, lasting five minutes each. Amateur boxing can be done in many styles, including Kickboxing and Muay Thai, Taekwondo or Karate, Judo, Wrestling, and Muay Thai.

Most professional boxing takes place in gyms, clubs, and stadiums. They wear protective equipment such as mouthpiece, nose guard, shin guards, elbow pads, knee pads, waist belt and groin protector. Professional boxing competitions have six rounds that last four minutes each. There are many styles of professional boxing: Boxing, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), Kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Olympic boxing is done at the Olympics. International standards require that boxers use special protective gear. The competition lasts for eight rounds, each lasting three minutes. Only two types of Olympic boxing are available: Light Flyweight or Heavyweight.

The basics of boxing are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Move your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven types of punches available: Left Hook and Right Hook, Cross, Cross, Straight, Underhand, Overhand, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, and Overhand. Each punch is different. Some punches require greater strength than others. For example, an uppercut is a powerful punch. On the contrary, a straight punch takes less power but is faster than most punches.

There are also many combinations. These are combinations of punches that work together to achieve a specific goal. A combination may contain several parts. An example of this is a left hook, followed by a right crossing. This will damage the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

To defend himself from being attacked, a boxer uses his entire body. He uses his arms, legs, elbows, knees, knees, and feet to do this.

Legs

To defend against kicks, a boxer should use his legs. After receiving a kick, he will raise his leg and move away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked in the side, he bends down if the attacker attacks from the front. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Because elbow strikes inflict a lot of pain, they are very effective. You can either deliver an elbow strike directly, or indirectly. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Hands

Boxers use their hands to block incoming blows. Boxers raise their fists to block incoming blows and then move in the direction of the attacker’s attack. Then, they touch the attacker’s hand.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. Knee strikes are often used for defense purposes.

Feet

When attacked, a boxer should step back and deliver counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. In addition, when delivering a counter-attack, a boxer should keep his balance.

Stances

Boxing is only possible if a boxer has a clear stance. His stance will determine how he defends. It dictates how he places his body and faces his opponent. There are many stances available to boxers. Here are the most commonly used ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

A boxer must be able to move around his opponent in order to win a fight. This requires changing your position, speed, and rhythm.

Rotation

A boxer will rotate his arm when he is throwing a punch. The rotation is done at different speeds depending on the type of punch.

Combinations

The timing of each punch determines the effectiveness of a combination. A good combination starts with a strong punch and ends with a weak one.

Spare parts

Sparring is a form of boxing that aims to improve your skills. Sparring allows a boxer to improve his mental and physical skills. Sparring, in conclusion, is about learning how to fight and not getting hurt.

To sum it all, boxing requires patience and dedication. To become a better fighter, you have to train hard and continue to work.
