Amir Khan open to a comeback
Former boxing champion Amir Khan has expressed his willingness to come out of retirement to take on YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Khan, who retired after his loss to Kell Brook in February 2022, is even willing to move up in weight to fight Paul. In an interview with Heart radio, Khan criticized Paul's conduct and arrogance, stating that he'd "love to fight him." Despite the three-stone weight difference, Khan is prepared to put on the pounds to defeat Paul.
Jake Paul's recent fights
Paul, 26, suffered his first defeat in February of this year, losing to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. However, he made a victorious return in August when he defeated ex-UFC star Nate Diaz in a ten-round match in Texas. For the bout, Paul weighed 185lb (13st 2lb), while Khan weighed 149lb (10st 6lb) in his loss to Brook.
Amir Khan's disciplinary issues
Amir Khan, a 2004 Olympic silver medalist, is currently serving a two-year ban for failing a drugs test last year. The ban was imposed after traces of the prohibited substance Ostarine, which aids weight loss and muscle growth, were found in Khan's system. Khan cooperated with the United Kingdom Anti-Doping agency during their investigation. In a statement, UKAD confirmed the ban and Khan's argument that the violations were unintentional.
