Jake Paul vs Canelo Alvarez tale of the tape: How two fighters compare as Mexican refuses to rule out shock clash

JAKE PAUL continues to make waves in professional boxing – and incredibly a fight against ring legend Canelo Alvarez has been mooted.

The YouTube sensation is open with the fact that him lacing up the gloves is a sure-fire to sell tickets and pocket millions.

But he would be seriously risking it all if he decides to trade with four-weight world champ Canelo.

The Mexican superstar has surprisingly REFUSED to rule out a fight against the social media sensation.

When asked what he thinks of a potential fight with Paul, the 31-year-old told photographers in the US: “Not right now.”

The Guadalajara gladiator then said: “He’s not ready.”

When asked if he thinks the fight ‘might be a good option’, Canelo replied: “If he wants someone to fight, we have this guy right here [Points to a friend].”

He added: “He needs to keep improving. Good luck.”

Canelo, 31, has fought an impressive 59 times, winning 56, losing once (to the legendary Floyd Mayweather, and drawing twice.

Paul on the other hand has only fought four times, winning all of them and three by KO.

But Paul would be taking in a sizeable height and reach advantage if they ever clashed.

He is 6ft 1in compared to Canelo’s 5ft 8in, with a reach of 76in to the Mexican’s 70.5in.

Paul’s verbal blast

Both boxers fight orthodox style.

Earlier this year Paul launched a verbal attack on Canelo by calling him an ‘old hater.’

“Canelo, what’s your problem, bro?! Why you hate me so much?!

“Canelo’s mad. He has this thing against me. Said I’m bad for the sport. I’m disrespecting it, which doesn’t make sense at all.

“I’m actually just bringing more eyeballs, more awareness to the sport of boxing.

“But since Canelo, you wanted to start this beef, let’s do it!

“Canelo! You’re an old hater, that’s what you are.”
