Boxing’s fundamental skills are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Movement of the body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spares

Punching Techniques

There are seven types of punches available: Left Hook and Right Hook, Cross, Cross, Straight, Underhand, Overhand, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, and Overhand. Each punch is different. Some punches require more force than others. A strong uppercut for example requires a lot of force. On the other hand, a straight punch requires less power but it is faster than other punches.

There are also various punching combinations. These are combinations that combine punches to accomplish a particular goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He uses his arms, legs, elbows, knees, knees, and feet to do this.

Legs

Boxers should use the legs to protect themselves against kicks. He raises his leg when he is hit with a kick and then moves away from the opponent. To avoid being kicked in the side, he bends down if the attacker attacks from the front. If the attack comes from behind, however, he can stand straight up and block the kick by his foot.

Elbows

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. You can either deliver an elbow strike directly, or indirectly. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Hands

Boxers use the power of their hands to block any incoming blows. To do this, they raise their fists higher than their heads and move their arms in the direction that the attack is coming. Then, they touch the attacker’s hand.

Knees

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. A lot of boxers use knee strikes to defend themselves.

Feet

If he is being attacked, a boxer must take a step back and counter-attack. This way, he can gain distance between himself and his opponent. In addition, when delivering a counter-attack, a boxer should keep his balance.

Stances

To box effectively, a boxer must establish a stance. His stance will determine how he defends. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. There are many stances available to boxers. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

To win a fight, a fighter must move around the opponent. This means changing your speed, position and rhythm.

Rotation

When a boxer throws a punch, he rotates in order to increase the reach of his arm. Depending on the type and size of punch, the speed at which the rotation takes place varies.

Combinations

The effectiveness of a combination depends on the timing of each individual punch. A combination of strong and weak punches will produce a good result.

Spare parts

Sparring is an exercise session to improve boxing skills. Sparring allows a boxer to improve his mental and physical skills. The goal of sparring is to learn to fight, and not to get hurt.

In conclusion, learning to box requires dedication and patience. To be a better boxer you need to train hard.
