John Fury Slams Son Tyson’s Game Plan Against Francis Ngannou

Critical Performance Raises Doubts for Oleksandr Usyk Fight

John Fury, father of boxer Tyson Fury, has strongly criticized his son's game plan in his recent fight against Francis Ngannou. Despite winning the crossover fight on a split points decision, Tyson's shaky performance has cast doubts on his ability to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in their upcoming match in February. John Fury has warned his son that he must change tactics or risk losing his WBC title.

"There Wasn't a Game Plan," Says John Fury

In an interview with the Mail via Free Bets UK, John Fury expressed his disappointment with Tyson's performance. He stated, "There was a lot wrong with it. His physical condition could have been a lot better. The game plan – there wasn't one. At the end of the day, he does his thing again. But it could have been a lot better."

Fury's Game Plan Criticized as "F***ing Stupid"

John Fury emphasized the importance of a strategic game plan and criticized Tyson for not employing one against Ngannou. He explained, "His game plan should have been box and move, be clever, be witty, outsmart him, but what happened? He tried to break a ten-tonne bulldozer with a toffee hammer." John Fury believes that Tyson should have trained for a defensive approach, similar to his fight against Wladimir Klitschko, in order to make Ngannou look foolish and run out of ideas.

John Fury's Concerns Extend to Tyson's Trainer

John Fury openly criticized Tyson's trainer, SugarHill Steward, for his role in Tyson's performance. He also expressed concerns about Tyson's physical condition over his last three fights and questioned whether he would be prepared for the February 17th bout. John Fury stated, "In my opinion, Tyson needs a bit more time to get his conditioning right and his weight right. For me, it looked like he had lost 20lbs of muscle last time. Something was wrong."

It remains to be seen how Tyson Fury will respond to his father's criticisms and whether any changes will be made to his training and game plan ahead of his fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
