He said: “So the old jaw is looking quite a size now. I’ve got a liquid diet this week and next.

“Not fry ups on a Monday like normal. Instead, porridge in a cup all liquid and watered down.

“Ha ha, the things that you have to do, the price you pay for being champion.”

Opponent Martinez came away from the fight with his fair share of cuts and bruises.

He looked unrecognisable as he showed off his horror black eyes and stitched cuts.

Warrington’s reward for his win may be a trip to Las Vegas.

Hearn believes Warrington could attract a following on 10,000 boxing-mad fans.

He said: “I just think it would be wild. It’s hard to say Ricky Hatton-esque because that was just amazing.

“But Josh would take 10,000-plus to Vegas and it would be, I mean they’d have to prepare for it, Vegas.

“I know Vegas is a wild place, but they’ve seen nothing like this.

“We took 800 once to Germany when Josh had an eight-rounder, 800, and they’re are still getting over that, not the 800, Germany.

“So it would be wild.”
