Mike Tyson was known for his neck exercises

And KSI has prepared from head to toe for the toughest bout of his career, more specifically his neck.

At the pre-fight workout, he rolled around the boxing ring canvas with his weight on his neck, an exercise famously used by Tyson.

The aim of the drill is to build up muscles in the neck, making it easier to withstand punches.

Tyson – the youngest heavyweight champion aged 20 – once had a 20-INCH neck by 18.

And KSI, 29, will hope to channel his inner Iron Mike when he faces Fournier, 40, at Wembley Arena.

And he sent out a brutal warning to his next rival as fight night approaches.

KSI told DAZN: “I’m ready, finally I get my hands on that motherf****r, sorry for my language.

“Joe Fournier is about to be in hell when he enters that ring. I can’t wait.

“The alpha, the omega, the man who knocks is going to be knocking on his head relentlessly, over and over again baby.”

But Fournier, unfazed later replied: “He’s going to do what he needs to do, I think that’s what’s going to get him knocked out.

“I think that aggression, look at Ryan Garcia, look how he got knocked out, because he was too aggressive.”

How To

Here are the Essential Skills of Boxing

How to box efficiently

Boxing is one of the most popular sports in the world. It involves two people who attempt to knock each other out of their heads. Each country has its own rules. There are generally three types of boxing: Amateur, Professional, and Olympic.

Amateur boxing can be practiced at school or college. This boxing style includes sparring sessions without protection, using padded gloves. Amateur boxing competitions usually last three rounds and last five minutes each. There are many styles of amateur boxing such as Kickboxing or Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Karate, Judo and Wrestling, among others.

Boxing professionals are usually trained in clubs, gyms, or stadiums. They wear protective equipment such as mouthpiece, nose guard, shin guards, elbow pads, knee pads, waist belt and groin protector. Professional boxing competitions have six rounds that last four minutes each. There are many styles of professional boxing: Boxing, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), Kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Olympic boxing takes place at the Olympics. Boxers are required to wear international standards-compliant protective gear. Each round lasts three minutes and is made up of eight rounds. Olympic boxing has only two styles, Light Flyweight vs Heavyweight.

The basics of boxing are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Techniques for protecting yourself
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Moving your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven kinds of punches: Left Hook, Right Hook, Uppercut, Cross, Straight, Overhand and Underhand. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches require greater strength than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. A straight punch, on the other hand requires less power and is quicker than other punches.

There are many combinations of punches. These are combinations of punches that work together to achieve a specific goal. A combination may contain several parts. For example, a combination of a left and right hook will result in damage to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer uses his body to protect himself against attacks. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

Boxers should use the legs to protect themselves against kicks. When he receives a kick, he raises his leg and moves away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked in the side, he bends down if the attacker attacks from the front. If the attack is from the side, he will bend his knees to avoid being kicked on the side.

Elbows

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. An elbow strike may be delivered directly or in an indirect manner. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Hands

Boxers use both their hands and arms to prevent incoming blows. Boxers raise their fists to block incoming blows and then move in the direction of the attacker’s attack. Then they make contact with the attacker’s fist.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. A lot of boxers use knee strikes to defend themselves.

Feet

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. A boxer must also maintain his balance when responding to an opponent’s counter-attack.

Stances

A boxer must have a stance in order to be effective at boxing. His stance determines how he defends himself. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. Boxers have many stances to choose from. Here are the most commonly used ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

Boxers must maneuver around their opponent to win fights. This means changing your speed, position and rhythm.

Rotation

When a boxer throws a punch, he rotates in order to increase the reach of his arm. Depending on the type and size of punch, the speed at which the rotation takes place varies.

Combinations

The timing of each individual punch affects the effectiveness or failure of a combination. A combination that works well starts with strong punches and ends with weak ones is a winning combination.

Spares

Sparring is an exercise session to improve boxing skills. Boxers learn to train their mind and bodies during sparring sessions. Sparring is a way to learn how to fight without getting hurt.

You need to have patience and dedication in order to learn how boxing works. To become a better boxer, you must train hard and for a long time.
