The image included both celebs with two captions, saying the fight will take place “This Summer” and that there will be an “announcement tomorrow”.

The ex-One Direction star remained tight-lipped on the details, captioning the post with an ‘eyes’ emoji.

The singer is a big boxing fan and has spoken about fighting the likes of KSI and even Justin Bieber in the past.

Should the pair go face to face, Fury obviously has the advantage as he is an experienced and undefeated boxer who has won all of his nine fights.

Tyson Fury’s brother is also younger, heavier and taller than Payne, who has never boxed professionally before.

The artist surpasses the British bruiser in terms of net worth and Instagram followers.

But that won’t do him any good if he decides to step foot inside the ring against the light heavyweight boxer.

However, the 1D celebrity is still very keen to try his luck in the squared circle.

Payne said: “If there is a chance for me to jump in the ring and feel gladiatorial in the 21st century I am in.

“I love boxing as a sport and I think it’s fantastic. I would just enjoy the challenge and the road up to it would be great.

“I would fight KSI he would have to come down a few weight slots. But yeah I’d fight him. I like him too much though.

“I will fight whoever you want. But I don’t think Justin Bieber would do it.”

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch is unique. Some punches are more powerful than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. A straight punch on the other side requires less power, but is more effective than other punches.

There are also various punching combinations. These are combinations which combine several punches in order to achieve a specific goal. An entire combination could have several parts. An example of this is a left hook, followed by a right crossing. This will damage the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

Boxers protect themselves by protecting their bodies. He does this by using his legs.

Legs

A boxer must use his legs to defend against kicks. After receiving a kick, he will raise his leg and move away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked on the sides, he bends at his knees when the attacker strikes from the front. But if the attack comes in the back, he will stand straight and block the kick using his foot.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very powerful because they inflict great pain. An elbow strike may be delivered directly or in an indirect manner. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Hands

Boxers use their hands to block incoming blows. To do so, they raise their fists above their head and move them towards the direction of the attack. Then they make contact with the attacker’s fist.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

Feet

When attacked, a boxer should step back and deliver counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. Additionally, boxers need to maintain their balance when they counter-attack.

Stances

Boxing effectively requires a boxer to have a good stance. How he defends his self will depend on how he stances. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. Boxers have many stances to choose from. These are some of our most favorite:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Move your body

To win a fight, a fighter must move around the opponent. This involves changing positions, speed, rhythm and timing.

Rotation

When a boxer throws a punch, he rotates in order to increase the reach of his arm. Depending on what punch is being thrown, the speed of rotation varies.

Combinations

Timing of each punch is crucial to the effectiveness of a combination. A combination is good if it starts with a strong punch then ends with a weaker one.

Spare parts

Sparring, a boxing practice session, is designed to improve your boxing skills. During sparring sessions, a boxer trains his mind as well as his body. The goal of sparring is to learn to fight, and not to get hurt.

Learning to box takes dedication and patience. To become a better fighter, you have to train hard and continue to work.
