The 29-year-old – who found fame as he coupled up with Danny Dyer’s daughter Dani on the ITV2 show – previously competed as an amateur in the ring.

But he has been given a second chance to don the gloves under the Boxxer promotional banner.

However, the star revealed on his Instagram page that he is set to go under the knife on Saturday after busting his nose on the steering wheel of his £35,000 Mercedes CLA last month.

A medical examination discovered his nose had not healed and he is still struggling to breathe – KOing the ‘devastated’ star’s bout for now.

Fincham wrote on social media: “Well, the news is out – I’m not going to be able to fight at @Boxxer #TuesdayNightFightNight on @BT Sport / #ITV4 next week.

“I broke my nose badly in a recent car crash, can’t breathe through it – I’m going in for surgery tomorrow morning.

“But I’m still going to be part of the show next Tuesday – I’ll be ringside with the #BOXXER team alongside @laylaannalee @paulmalignaggi @willperrytv @savagedan10 – and I will have a few things to say on the broadcast…

“I’m gutted no in fact DEVASTATED because of the hard work I’ve put in and I want to say sorry to everyone who was looking forward to it.

“I want to thank my team, trainers and sponsors and I want to thank all of you for your support – I see it all and it means the world to me.

“I’ll be out of action for a few weeks and then then back into full training.

“We’re going to set a new date for the fight and you’ll see me in the Boxxer ring early 2021 – this is just a speedbump, not a roadblock ? .

“Tune in on Tuesday to watch the action with me and the team.”

Fincham was set to take to the ring as a light-heavyweight with four rounds scheduled and has been coached by Tyson Fury‘s former trainer Ben Davison.

He was due to fight before the super-middleweight tournament between Zak Chelli, Diego Costa, Charlie Schofield and Ben Ridings.

Fincham won 18 of his 26 amateur bouts representing Eltham ABC, and last boxed quietly two years ago.

SunSport has charted Fincham’s journey from the Spanish villa to the ring in a six-part series screened exclusively on our YouTube channel every Wednesday.
