Garcia and Campbell will fight for the WBC ‘interim’ title

But after Campbell returned a positive Covid-19 test, the fight was forced to be backdated.

But it appears it will only be two weeks, as Garcia promoter Oscar De La Hoya revealed the new date.

De La Hoya told The Athletic that the fight is ‘most likely’ going to be rescheduled for December 19.

Garcia, 22, is unbeaten in his 20 fights with 17 knockouts and proving to be a rising star Stateside.

Campbell, an 2012 Olympic gold medalist, has only had three more fights but spent more time in the pro ranks.

And he has also shared the ring with modern greats like Vasiliy Lomachenko and Jorge Linares, losing both times in a well contested points verdict.

The 33-year-old is adamant he will stop the hype train coming out of America and prove too bullish for Garica.

Campbell told Bad Left Hook: “I feel like when I start hitting him, really hurting him, he’s not gonna want to be there, and I will knock him out there.”

“I just believe in me. I believe in what I’ve got, I believe I’m performing better than I’ve ever performed and I’m literally in a fantastic place physically and mentally.

“And I want to go in there and showcase to the world what I can do and what I’ve got and he’s a great opponent to do it against.”
