KSI vs Tommy Fury will be a professional fight instead of an exhibition match.
The highly-anticipated showdown between Tommy Fury and YouTube sensation KSI on October 14 was originally promoted as an exhibition bout, following the pattern of KSI's last five fights.
However, Boxrec has now labeled the match as a professional fight, much to the amusement of KSI, who laughed off the change when fans noticed it.
The stakes are high for both fighters, as KSI has vowed to end Fury's career, and a loss for the Love Island star in his first professional bout would be a major setback.
British Boxing Board of Control approval still pending
Although the KSI vs Tommy Fury fight is listed as a professional match on Boxrec, the British Boxing Board of Control has yet to give its official sanction for the six-round showdown.
KSI, 30, has only competed in one professional fight so far, which was his first encounter with Logan Paul in November 2019. KSI emerged victorious in that match, winning by a split decision.
On the other hand, 24-year-old Fury has an impressive record of winning all nine of his professional fights, most recently defeating Jake Paul on points in February.
"Caped Crusader" ready to end YouTuber boxing
Fury has dubbed himself the "caped crusader" in the lead-up to the fight, declaring that he aims to dismantle the world of YouTuber boxing once and for all.
He confidently stated, "I'm like kind of the 'caped crusader' of all this YouTube boxing. They all want to see me come in and destroy these guys.
"But one's already been done. This one will be done in a matter of weeks, and then it's on to the next challenge.
"People want to see these guys get knocked out."
YouTuber showdown on the undercard
In another exciting clash of YouTuber titans, Logan Paul will take on Dillon Danis in an undercard fight on the same night as KSI vs Tommy Fury.
