Manny Pacquiao’s trainer admits ‘I’m a little bit worried’ about legend fighting again and says ‘this could be it’

MANNY PACQUIAO’S trainer Freddie Roach admits he is ‘a little bit worried’ about the legend fighting again after his loss to Yordenis Ugas.

The Filipino legend, 42, suffered a unanimous decision defeat to the WBA welterweight champion in front of a packed crowd at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

The eight-weight world title holder admitted afterwards he is thinking about calling it a day.

He said: “In the future, you may not see Manny Pacquiao fight again in the ring.

“I don’t know. But for how many decades, I’m so happy with what I’ve done in boxing.

“I contribute a record in boxing also and to make boxing the top.

“And especially bring honour to my country and the Filipino people.

“I’m so proud to be a Filipino and thankful to all the fans all over the world.”

Now his long-time trainer Roach has also cast doubt on whether we will see Pac-Man battle between the ropes again.

Speaking in his post-fight interview, he said: “I hate to see the day he retires, but this could be it.

“He didn’t have a great performance tonight. We’ll see what Manny decides.

“Manny had trouble reaching Ugas. Manny was not able to solve Ugas’ height and reach advantage.”

And Roach, who has worked with the superstar before and during his rise to the top, admitted age may have caught up with the star – who has lost two of his last five fights.

He added: “I’m a little worried about it, yes.

“He’s boxed for a long time, and he’s boxed with me for a long time.”
