Mike Tyson to take on great white SHARK in incredible man vs beast challenge for Discovery Channel

MIKE TYSON will take on a great white SHARK in an incredible man vs beast challenge.

Tyson will feature on the annual summer TV programme Shark Week.

The week-long summer hit, televised on Discovery Channel, in 2017 featured Olympic legend Michael Phelps racing a simulated great white shark. 

But this year heavyweight legend Iron Mike will take on the ocean’s best.

It is not entirely clear how the 54-year-old former boxer will challenge the shark.

But iconic ring announcer Michael Buffer will be calling the shots.

Tyson will take on the apex predator underwater, though it has been stressed no sharks were harmed in the making of this episode.

The challenge comes as he prepares to make a sensational boxing comeback for charity, 15 years on from his last fight.

And facing a great white is all part of his road to stepping between the ropes again.

Tyson said: “I took on this challenger to overcome fears I still deal with in life.

“I equate this with overcoming my fear of getting back into the ring at 54 years old.

“I learned from this experience doing Shark Week that whatever intimidates me I am still able to step up to the challenge of overcoming anything that would prevent me from accomplishing my life’s mission of reaching my highest potential in life and bringing me closer to God.”
