BOXING legend Mike Tyson has advised Tyson Fury to “keep on winning” amid retirement rumours.
Fury extended his undefeated run by ending his trilogy with Deontay Wilder in style earlier this month when he blasted The Bronze Bomber in Las Vegas with an 11th-round knockout.
The Gypsy King retained the WBC heavyweight title but his future appears to be uncertain as there have been plenty of signs hinting on the British heavyweight hanging up his gloves.
However, Tyson seems to be urging the 33-year-old bruiser to keep on going and extend his 32-match unbeaten record.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion told Reuters: “Keep on winning brother, keep on winning.
“He’s the lineal champion. He’s the man who beat the man. He is heavyweight boxing, period. He is, nobody else.
“Ask anybody except for [Oleksandr] Usyk, who is the heavyweight champion? And Usyk might even say it’s Fury.”
Fury hinted at retirement after beating Wilder by claiming he doesn’t know if he needs to fight anymore.
However, the Mancunian added that he has one more bout left on his contract with Top Rank and ESPN.
Fury said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen.
“I’ve got one fight left on my contract with Top Rank and ESPN and we’ll see what that is.
“But I’m not thinking about boxing right now. I don’t know how many fights I’ve got left.
“I don’t know if I need to fight any more. I don’t know what the future holds.”
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren echoed his fighter’s sentiments as he didn’t rule out a potential departure from boxing.
Warren added that he will support whatever decision the English boxer makes about his future.
He said: “Before the fight, he did an interview and he mapped out five fights.
“I’m just saying, if he chooses to do it, he will do it. He will do what he wants to do and no one is going to tell him who he is going to fight.
“I tell you that now; he is the man and he will do what is necessary. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tyson said tomorrow, ‘I’ve had enough, I don’t fancy it.’
“If he does, he is wealthy, he has made a lot of money and he has got to do what is right for him.”
