Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr undercard to feature Jake Paul against former NBA star Nate Robinson

JAKE PAUL is set to fight former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr exhibition bout.

Boxing legends Tyson, 54, and Jones, 51, have signed to face each other in an eight-round exhibition bout on September 12 in California.

Robinson has not played in the NBA since the 2015-2016 season

The heavyweight headliner will be streamed online on the social media pay-per-view platform Triller.

It has opened the door for YouTube star Paul to feature on the event.

The 23-year-old American won his professional debut in February, beating internet rival AnEsonGib in just a round.

He was targeting a fight against YouTube sensation KSI – who beat his brother Logan by split-decision last November.

But instead Paul will fight boxing debutant Robinson, who has not played in the NBA since the 2015-2016 season, but is signed to Lebanese-Armenia club Homenetmen Beirut.

Both ring novices confirmed their fight to The Athletic.

Robinson said: “I wanted to show that I’m a world class athlete.

“I played college football, played in the NBA for 11 years, and I’m excited for this venture into the sport of boxing.

“Jake Paul, I want all the smoke.”

Paul said: “Make no mistake, on September 12, Nate will meet the canvas early.”

The YouTuber boxed KSI’s brother in an exhibition bout in 2018, before turning pro a year later.

Boxing great James Toney, 51, and former UFC champion Tito Ortiz, 45, – who both called out Tyson – were in line to box each other on Iron Mike’s undercard.

But the crossover bout has since fallen through.
