Former boxer gives update on his ongoing recovery
Prichard Colon, the former champion boxer who suffered a life-changing brain injury in a 2015 fight, has shared an inspirational message with his fans. After taking repeated punches to the back of the head, Colon complained of feeling dizzy and later collapsed. He was placed into a coma for 221 days and underwent complex surgery to reduce brain swelling. Now, nearly eight years on, Colon continues to battle and is refusing to give up.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, which has 129,000 followers, the 31-year-old can be seen interacting with his mother and trying on different pairs of glasses. He even fist-bumps his mother, displaying his determination and resilience. The post is captioned: "Where are my supporters, they never give up on me." Fans have flooded the comments section with messages of support, expressing their admiration for Colon's progress.

Colon's mother, Nieves, regularly updates fans on her son's progress through YouTube videos. One recent video showed Colon attending a truck rally and now being able to brush his own teeth. On his 31st birthday, Colon received a cake and a signed boxing glove from rapper Daddy Yankee. Despite the ongoing challenges, Colon remains determined and is making strides in his recovery.
Lawsuit seeking damages remains unsettled
In 2017, Colon's parents filed a lawsuit seeking damages from the ringside doctor and the promoters of the fight, totaling more than £41 million. However, the lawsuit has yet to be settled. The family continues to fight for justice and accountability.
