Update on Prichard Colon's Health
Former boxer Prichard Colon's mother, Nieves, recently shared a heartwarming video on Facebook of him dancing with his family, providing an encouraging update on his health.
Last month, Nieves posted footage of Colon celebrating his 31st birthday. He was seen smiling after receiving a birthday cake and even received a signed boxing glove from rapper Daddy Yankee.
Colon suffered a bleed on the brain in 2015 after his fight with Terrel Williams, during which he endured repeated blows to the back of his head. Part of his skull collapsed as a result. He went into a coma for 221 days and has since been receiving care at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital in Orange Park, Florida.
Recovery and Progress
It remains uncertain how much Colon will recover from the damage, but fans are taking this recent update as a sign of good progress. Nieves frequently provides updates on her son's health on social media.
Deontay Wilder's Emotional Response
Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder expressed sympathy for Colon's condition during a post-fight interview. Wilder tearfully pointed to Colon as an example of the dangers boxers face in the ring.
