BOXER Luis Palmer is in an induced coma after being hit by a “very heavy punch” during his bout last week.
The 28-year-old took on Grant Quigley at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow in just his fourth professional fight.

The Sheffield boxer was treated on site before being taken to hospital, where he is now in an induced coma.
General secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control Robert Smith told the Sheffield Star: “I was there. It was an evenly matched contest, he took a very heavy punch at the end of the (fourth) round.
“He was treated in the ring and taken to hospital.”
Smith then continued: “He’s suffering from a bleed.

“They haven’t operated, other than releasing the pressure in the brain.
“He’s in an induced coma, as is normal procedure, I have spoken to the doctors this morning and that’s where we are.”
Father-of-two Palmer was taking part in his fourth pro bout, having competed in his first back in February.
He drew with Mali Wright on debut, before losing to his fellow 28-year-old in a Leeds rematch the following month.
Palmer was back in action in early April, drawing with Jack Fay in Oldham – before taking on Quigley last week.
After speaking to both Palmer and Quigley’s teams, Smith added: “They are obviously upset with the circumstances, as we are, but we are all just waiting.”
The event in Glasgow was 6-0 Quigley’s first pro fight in six years.
