The fight, which was set to headline an all-women’s card at the O2 Arena, has been pushed back to October 15.

Promoter Ben Shalom said: “This is an unprecedented moment in our history and our sincere thoughts are primarily with the Royal Family and the nation at this time.

“Out of respect, the British Boxing Board of Control has decided to postpone Saturday’s show.

“A provisional date for Saturday, 15th October at The O2 is being worked on by all parties to stage this unique and iconic night of celebration for women’s sport at a more appropriate time.”

The undercard was also set to host the unified super-featherweight title bout between Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner.

But the night’s headliner was due to settle the ten-year rivalry between old amateur rivals Shields and Marshall.

Although their feud now faces one more month until it can be decided with all four middleweight belts on the line.

Reacting to the postponement, Shields tweeted: “Yeah, I understand.”
