Unified champion Usyk agreed to Fury’s outrageous purse demands but the mouthwatering bout still failed to come to fruition, with a rematch clause being one of the main reasons why.

And a frustrated Fury took to Instagram on Thursday to say: “Uysk, you proper little s***bag, bog-eyed, gappy-teethed, ugly little rat b*****d

Usyk, 36, will probably now defend his titles against mandatory WBA title challenger Daniel Dubois in a fight Fury was quick to mock.

He added: “You little ugly b*****d, keep running. Fight Dubois at the Copper Box, s**t bag.

“And always know you, or anybody else like ya, could ever tangle with the Gypsy King.”

Boxing fans are hopeful of a miracle to save the pair’s proposed April 29 showdown at Wembley, although Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren insists the fight is dead in the water.

He told the BBC: “They said the fight must take place before 29 April and if it goes later they want different splits.

“The reason they did that was they didn’t think Tyson would be ready for the 29th and suddenly Tyson was ready for it.

“He has been in training camp for two-and-a-half weeks, got trainers in from America and they looked for a way to get out.”

He added: “There is an established rota of who Usyk has to defend against.

“That’s why after the 29th it goes away.”

Boxing is based on the following skills:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Move your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches require more strength than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. On the contrary, a straight punch takes less power but is faster than most punches.

There are also different combinations. These are combinations of punches which work together to achieve a goal. A combination may have multiple parts. For example, a combination of a left and right hook will result in damage to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Boxers must use their legs to defend themselves against kicks. After receiving a kick, he will raise his leg and move away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked in the side, he bends down if the attacker attacks from the front. If the attack comes from behind, however, he can stand straight up and block the kick by his foot.

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. An elbow strike can be delivered directly or indirectly. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Boxers use both their hands and arms to prevent incoming blows. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. The attacker’s fist is then in their face.

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. This will allow him to gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Moving your body

In order to win a fight, a boxer must move around his opponent. This requires changing your position, speed, and rhythm.

Rotating his arm to increase the puncher’s reach is a key part of boxing. Different types of punches require different speeds for the rotation.

Timing of each punch is crucial to the effectiveness of a combination. A combination is good if it starts with a strong punch then ends with a weaker one.

Sparring is a training session that improves boxing skills. Sparring is a training session that helps a boxer train his mind and body. Sparring, in conclusion, is about learning how to fight and not getting hurt.
