Tommy Fury confirms he will watch KSI’s fight with Joe Fournier from ringside amid talk of celebrity boxing bout

TOMMY FURY is set to take a ringside seat to watch KSI’s fight with Joe Fournier up close and personal.

YouTube sensation KSI returns to the ring tonight against millionaire nightclub tycoon-turned 9-0 boxer Fournier at Wembley Arena.

Tommy Fury beat Jake Paul last month and will now keep an eye on KSI

KSI, 29, is already eyeing Fury as his next opponent – and it appears both are on board.

Fury, 24, posted on Instagram: “I’ll be watching. From ringside.”

KSI had hoped to finally settle his bitter score with Jake Paul this year but Fury gave those plans the KO by beating the American.

And Paul has since snubbed a rematch or talks with KSI to instead return on August 5 against ex-UFC star Nate Diaz.

So KSI has vowed not to wait around and will instead try to finish what his great nemesis started.

The Londoner has not only revealed that he wants to fight Fury next, but in fact the two are closing in on a deal to meet in the ring.

KSI told Seconds Out: “Yes, we’re close.

“I’ve been saying this in every interview and people keep saying that it’s cap but then why do I keep saying it?”

Fury beat Paul in February by split-decision in Saudi Arabia to hand the self-proclaimed Problem Child his first loss.

But KSI – who faces his first opponent with boxing experience tonight – is ready to embrace the underdog in a potential British celeb bout.

And such is his confidence, he is ready to put his money where his mouth is as he said: “You know what I can’t wait.

“We’re working on the deal and hopefully, it comes through and then I can wait to bet £100,000 on myself with whatever betting agency that allows me to bet £100,000 on myself because I know the odds are going to be terrible.

“And everyone is going to look at that fight and be like, ‘What’s the point? KSI doesn’t have a chance. He’s not even at Jake Paul’s level.’

“How many times I proved people wrong? People thought I was going to lose to Logan Paul, I beat him. People thought I’d lose to Joe Weller, I beat him.”

Punching Techniques

There are seven types: Left Hook (right hook), Right Hook (uppercut), Cross (cross), Straight, Overhand, Underhand. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches are more powerful than others. A strong uppercut for example requires a lot of force. A straight punch on the other side requires less power, but is more effective than other punches.

There are many combinations of punches. These are combinations that combine punches to accomplish a particular goal. One combination can have many parts. A combination may include multiple parts. For example, damage to the jaw of an opponent can be caused by a left hook and a right cross.

Guard Techniques

Boxers use their bodies to defend themselves against attack. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

Boxers should use the legs to protect themselves against kicks. When he’s hit, he raises his right leg and runs away from the attacker. If the attack comes from the front, then he bends his knees to avoid being kicked on the side. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Because elbow strikes inflict a lot of pain, they are very effective. An elbow strike may be delivered directly or in an indirect manner. Directly means that you hit your opponent with your forearm while indirectly means that you hit him with another part of your arm.

Hands

Boxers use their hands to block incoming blows. To do so, they raise their fists above their head and move them towards the direction of the attack. They then touch the attackers fist.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. For defense purposes, knee strikes are common.

Feet

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. A boxer must also maintain his balance when responding to an opponent’s counter-attack.

Stances

Boxing effectively requires a boxer to have a good stance. The way he defends himself will be determined by his stance. It defines where he faces his opponent and how he positions his body. Boxers can take many different stances. These are the most popular:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

A boxer must change his position, speed and rhythm in order to win the fight. This means changing your speed, position and rhythm.

Rotation

Boxers rotate their arms when they throw a punch. Different types of punches require different speeds for the rotation.

Combinations

The timing of each punch will determine the effectiveness and efficiency of a combination. A combination that works well starts with strong punches and ends with weak ones is a winning combination.
