Tommy Fury could fight Jake Paul in EARLY 2022, claims Frank Warren – who calls Brit ‘unlucky’ to miss December bout

TOMMY FURY could finally end up sharing the ring with Jake Paul ‘early’ next year.

The Love Islander was due to face the YouTuber turned boxer in a grudge match last weekend but was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury and illness.

Promoter Frank Warren is hoping to reschedule the fight for early next year

Fury, 22, is still hellbent on settling the score with the social media star and promoter Frank Warren is hoping to re-book the fight as soon as possible.

He told Sky Sports: “We will be looking to reschedule in early 2022.”

“Jake said that Tommy Fury was ‘lucky’ he wasn’t in there but really Tommy was extremely unlucky to miss out with his injury.

“A fit Tommy Fury is a very different proposition to Tyron Woodley.”

Problem Child Paul registered a stunning sixth-round KO victory over former UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley last weekend.

And the former Disney star believes he would’ve done a lot worse to fellow novice Fury, the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champ Tyson.

He said: “I’m ready to fight whoever. It doesn’t matter if they’re a professional boxer or a five-time UFC champion. I don’t care.

“I’m really built for this. And no matter what I’m gonna get the job done.

“And that’s what I showed tonight.

“And Tommy Fury is lucky he wasn’t in there tonight. Because Tyron’s way tougher, he has that experience.”

Paul is unsure about giving Fury a second bite of the cheery, admitting: “I don’t really know what’s next on the roadmap. I’ve done it all, I’ve accomplished what I want to accomplish.

“I need to take a break, I’ve been going at this non-stop for a year and a half and it’s a lot.

“I’m exhausted, I need to spend time with my family at Christmas and go on a vacation, I haven’t gone on a vacation since I was 18 years old.

Jake Paul viciously knocked out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley last weekend

“I told myself ‘not until you feel like you’ve got to a place in life where you deserve a vacation’ and I deserve it now.

“I’m going to go on my first real vacation where there’s no obligations, because I’ve gone on vacations where I have to film it, vlog it, do interviews and wake up at a certain time to work out.

“I’m going on a real vacation and doing backflips into the water – I’ll come back whenever I feel like it.”
