Here are the Basic Skills of Boxing

How to box efficiently

Boxing is one of the most popular sports in the world. Two opponents fight each other to the death. The rules of boxing vary from country to country. There are three types: Amateur, Professional, or Olympic boxing.

Amateur boxing is often practiced at school, college, or university. This type of boxing allows sparring without protection. Amateur boxing competitions typically last for three rounds, each lasting five minutes. Amateur boxing can be done in many styles, including Kickboxing and Muay Thai, Taekwondo or Karate, Judo, Wrestling, and Muay Thai.

Boxing professionals are usually trained in clubs, gyms, or stadiums. They are protected by protective equipment like a mouthpiece, nose protector, shinguards, elbow pads and knee pads, waist belt, and groin protection. Six rounds of professional boxing last four minutes each. There are many styles of professional boxing: Boxing, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), Kickboxing and Muay Thai.

Olympic boxing takes place at the Olympics. International standards require that boxers use special protective gear. Each round lasts three minutes and is made up of eight rounds. Olympic boxing has only two styles, Light Flyweight vs Heavyweight.

The basics of boxing are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Techniques for protecting yourself
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • The body moves
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spares

Punching Techniques

There are seven types of punches available: Left Hook and Right Hook, Cross, Cross, Straight, Underhand, Overhand, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, and Overhand. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches require more strength than others. For example, an uppercut requires great force. There are also various punching combinations. These are combinations of punches which work together to achieve a goal. An entire combination could have several parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He uses his arms, legs, elbows, knees, knees, and feet to do this.

Legs

A boxer must use his legs to defend against kicks. If he gets kicked, he raises one leg and turns away from his attacker. If the attack comes from the front, then he bends his knees to avoid being kicked on the side. But if the attack comes in the back, he will stand straight and block the kick using his foot.

Elbows

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. An elbow strike may be delivered directly or in an indirect manner. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Hands

Boxers use the power of their hands to block any incoming blows. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. Then, they touch the attacker’s hand.

Knees

A boxer should bend his knees in order to absorb any blows to his stomach, abdomen, chest or stomach. For defense purposes, knee strikes are common.

Feet

When attacked, a boxer should step back and deliver counter-attacks. This allows him to put distance between himself, his opponent, and the ring. Boxers should also keep their balance when counter-attacking.

Stances

Boxing is only possible if a boxer has a clear stance. His stance determines how he defends himself. It defines where he faces his opponent and how he positions his body. Boxers have many stances to choose from. Here are some of the more popular ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Move your body

To win a fight, a fighter must move around the opponent. This involves changing position, speed and rhythm.

Rotation

Combinations

The timing of each individual punch affects the effectiveness or failure of a combination. A combination that is effective starts with a strong punch, and ends with one that is weak.

Spare parts

Sparring is an exercise session to improve boxing skills. Sparring allows a boxer to improve his mental and physical skills. In conclusion, the purpose of sparring is to learn how to fight and not get hurt.

It is important to be patient and dedicated when learning how to box. Boxing is a sport that requires dedication and perseverance.
