TOMMY FURY claims Jake Paul reached out to him privately following his win over KSI
Tommy Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has revealed that Jake Paul reached out to him in a private message after his victory over KSI. The 22-year-old Fury made history by becoming the first man to defeat Paul in the boxing ring, winning their grudge match in Saudi Arabia via split-decision in February.
Fury beats KSI on points
Fury's success didn't end there, as he went on to face Paul's arch rival KSI and secured another victory on the scorecards. Paul was in attendance at the Manchester fight and later messaged Fury to congratulate him. According to Fury, Paul said, "Congratulations brother, you know, I could tell there's something wrong with your hand." Fury also revealed that Paul was trying to secure a fight with him, acknowledging that he is the biggest draw in the sport.
Fury's dominance in the ring
Fury confidently expressed his position as the top fighter, stating that he has achieved more than Paul and KSI in a shorter amount of time. He said, "Him and KSI have been talking about fighting for years, I've literally come and within 12 months beaten both of them on their own show." Fury emphasized that it is now his choice to decide who he wants to fight next, claiming that he can pick and choose his opponents.
Potential rematch on the horizon
While KSI has appealed his loss to Fury and announced a break from boxing, Paul is set to make his return on December 15 against a pro boxer with a "winning record." However, Paul has also expressed interest in a rematch with Fury next year. After his victory over ex-UFC star Nate Diaz in August, Paul stated that a rematch with Fury is a possibility. Both fighters have called for a rematch, and it remains to be seen if they will meet again in the ring.
