Tommy Fury will ‘massively regret’ pulling out of Jake Paul fight ‘for the rest of his LIFE’, claims YouTuber rival

JAKE PAUL reckons Tommy Fury has ruined the rest of his life by pulling out of their celebrity showdown with illness and injury.

The proud fighting family – headed by dad John and WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson – insisted the bout was a legal bank robbery for their boy and he could win with any range of ailments.

Tommy Fury withdrew from fighting Jake Paul after suffering a chest infection and broken rib

But, when the 22-year-old Love Island star suffered a chest infection and broken rib just weeks from the fight, he cancelled the pay-per-view circus.

And 25-year-old Paul reckons the guaranteed shame of pulling out will hurt even more than the possible pain of losing to the bitter rival he had dismissed and insulted so readily.

Speaking at SunSport HQ to promote Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano, fighter-turned-promoter Paul said: “Tommy Fury pulling out of the fight with his illness is more embarrassing than him fighting and getting knocked out.

“It’s bad either way for him but this way this way for him will be a massive regret for the rest of his entire life.

“He definitely seems very down though, he is complaining on Instagram about fans attacking him, claiming he didn’t fake an injury.

“He is clearly going through it.”

At the UK media day to flog the fight, Gypsy King Tyson gave an interview claiming that Tommy would coast to victory even with a cold and a broken rib.

And that clip went viral when those two afflictions later ruled him out.

But Paul reckons Team Fury knew then that 7-0 hunk was planning to renege on the deal.

Paul said: “I think they knew that day that they were going to use the broken rib as an excuse so they leaked it.”

Paul and John Fury, the 57-year-old former fighter and father, exchanged verbal digs over a video link that Morecambe afternoon.

But it backfired when Fury aimed insults at Jake’s partner and planned broadcasters BT Sport had to apologise repeatedly for the behaviour.

And Paul reckons he is about to take over from some of the outdated old-guard.

He said: “That’s what happens when you let old,  misogynistic men like John Fury speak.”
