Eubank Legacy
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Simon Eubank, the brother of British boxing legend Chris Eubank Sr, has tragically passed away. The news was shared by Simon's son, unbeaten boxer Harlem, who took to social media to express his grief.
A Father Remembered
Harlem Eubank posted a touching message alongside photos of his late father, saying, "Rest easy up there dad. We love you and we'll try do you proud." The emotional tribute reflected the deep bond between father and son.
A Family of Boxers
Simon and his twin brother Peter were both older siblings to Chris Eubank. While all three brothers had a passion for boxing, it was Chris who rose to greatness, achieving a world championship career at middleweight and super-middleweight.
A Legacy in the Ring
Simon, on the other hand, had a boxing career at the super-welterweight level. He retired in 1992 with seven wins and 20 losses. Peter, his twin, retired a year earlier with a record of 14 wins and 21 losses.
A Mentor's Impact
Chris Eubank's influence extended beyond his own boxing career. He went on to coach and mentor his son, Chris Jr, who has become one of the biggest stars in the UK boxing scene. The Eubank legacy also carries on with Harlem Eubank, who is an 18-0 super-lightweight prospect.
Tributes Pour In
Upon announcing the passing of his father on Instagram, Harlem Eubank received an outpouring of support and condolences from the boxing community. Boxer Shannon Courtenay, Irish Olympian Michael Conlan, and Eubank Jr's former opponent Gary O'Sullivan were among those who offered their sympathies.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Eubank family during this difficult time.
