He got it on his middle finger, but ahead of their rematch over the weekend, Woodley showed it is now nowhere to be seen.

Woodley said on Showtime: “I purposely did it to troll the troll.

“Anybody who has a tattoo on the inside of their hand, or a tattoo artist knows it fades.

“I got it on the finger that means the opposite of love, I put it on that finger but I knew it was going to wear down.

“Taking showers, washing your hands, boxing, battle ropes, turf – I didn’t want to walk around with his name on me for the rest of my life.

“I agreed not to have it removed, I agreed to have it permanent, but I never felt I lost the fight anyway, so I wasn’t super psyched about getting it.

“It wasn’t something I mapped out and had all this work into it.”

Before their fight in August, they bet the loser would have to get the winner’s name tattooed on them.

But after Woodley, 39, lost by split-decision, Paul, 24, said in the ring he would rematch if the wager was lived up to.

It took the former MMA star almost a full month to get the tattoo, by which time Paul was already set to fight Tommy Fury, 22.

But Fury was forced to withdraw on less than two week’s notice after suffering a broken rib and chest infection while training.

In Paul’s first three fights, he beat YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 37, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 37.

But Fury would have been the YouTuber’s first opponent with prior professional experience.

That will now have to wait, after Woodley, already training, signed to fill in as a late replacement.
