Tyson Fury announced to fight bizarre opponent on KSI card after teasing ‘monster’ bout

TYSON FURY’S next opponent appears to have been announced with a bizarre fight lined up on KSI’s Misfits Boxing card.

Fans have been left very sceptical by the reveal which would see Fury take on a man few would have guessed.

Tyson Fury has been on the look out for a new opponent

KSI has given his reaction to the ‘announcement’

The heavyweight champion has been close to securing big fights against the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua in recent months.

But with those potential bouts falling by the wayside, the Gypsy King was on the prowl for another big clash.

Misfits Boxing, KSI’s crossover fighting brand, has tweeted that Fury will take on American Football player Chase DeMoor in a May 13 clash at Wembley Arena.

Their ‘announcement’ comes as Fury teased fans yesterday with news of a “massive, monstrous fight”.

Fury, 34, has been expected to fight again in July and December this year but with the negotiations for clashes against AJ and Usyk halted, it was unclear who he would take on next.

The Morecambe fighter has no mandatory challenger for his WBC belt so is free to handpick his next opponent.

Fans have been left divided over the claim he is to fight DeMoor with many insisting it is a joke but others unsure.

One said: “No way this is real. Right… right!?”

While another fight fan said: “This is a joke right?”

Meanwhile, a cheeky tweeter said: “Such a mismatch… how are you gonna put one of the best heavyweights of our generation against Tyson Fury.”

Another fan joked: “Fury won’t take that fight, too much of a risk.”

Even KSI got in on the reaction as he tweeted: “I hope this is fake. Putting Fury’s health at serious risk making this fight, smh.”

Despite their social media post, Misfits have still yet to release an official statement confirming the fight.

If it was proven to be real, it would one of the most high-profile showdowns that crossover boxing has seen.

And incredibly Fury could theoretically go through with it even though Misfits boxing is not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control.

As Fury holds a Nevada licence he could not be punished by the BBBofC for taking part.

DeMoor, who has appeared in Netflix dating series Too Hot To Handle, has got limited experience in crossover boxing.

He lost to Youtuber Josh Brueckner by technical knockout last year in his debut fight.

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch comes with its own technique. Some punches require more strength than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. On the other hand, a straight punch requires less power but it is faster than other punches.

There are many combinations that can be used to punch. These are combinations of punches that work together to achieve a specific goal. A combination may contain several parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He uses his arms, legs, elbows, knees, knees, and feet to do this.

Legs

To defend against kicks, a boxer should use his legs. When he’s hit, he raises his right leg and runs away from the attacker. If the attack comes from the front, then he bends his knees to avoid being kicked on the side. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very powerful because they inflict great pain. You can deliver an elbow strike directly or indirectly. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Hands

Boxers use their hands as a shield against incoming punches. Boxers use their hands to stop incoming punches. They raise their fists up above their heads and move towards the attack. They then make contact with their attacker’s fist.

Stances

Boxing is only possible if a boxer has a clear stance. His stance determines how he defends himself. It is how he positions himself and where he faces the opponent. Boxers can take many different stances. These are the most popular:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

In order to win a fight, a boxer must move around his opponent. This requires changing your position, speed, and rhythm.
