TYSON FURY could stun boxing again by leaping over to wrestling and becoming WWE world champ.
Britain’s 6ft 9in WBC heavyweight king is getting itchy knuckles waiting for a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder as coronavirus blocks crowds and complicates travel.
Fury, 32, has not stopped training since his sensational February Las Vegas win over the Bronze Bomber and insists he needs a fight of any kind to keep his mind healthy.
Fury wrestled for the American grappling firm, previously known as WWF, in Saudi Arabia last year when he was letting a cut heal before battering Wilder.
But now he is in a social-media war of words with champ Drew McIntyre of Scotland and rumours of an all UK-clash for the top belt are growing, especially as both showmen star exclusively on BT Sport.
Fury said: “I am a gym junkie, I need to fight and I want to work.
“I have been training non-stop and I am ready for a fight — any fight — anywhere.
“If Wilder cannot do the rematch then who knows who I’ll fight.
“Maybe I could fight Drew McIntyre for the WWE championship. He has been calling me out lately so he could end up getting it from me next.”
The WWE have kept weekly shows and monthly pay-per-views running though the lockdown behind closed doors.
And a second stint for Fury would make the potential mega-fight with Anthony Joshua an even bigger spectacle.
