TYSON FURY has demanded Anthony Joshua ‘grow a pair and sign the contract’ for their blockbuster heavyweight unification bout.
The Gypsy King watched AJ defeat Kubrat Pulev on Saturday with a ninth round knockout at Wembley to defend his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.
Afterwards, the WBC champion took to social media and claimed Joshua ‘s*** himself’ when questioned about a bumper showdown with Fury next.
The 32-year-old has now ramped up the stakes again during an appearance on Good Morning Britain by demanding AJ pens the deal to make the fight that the world wants to see.
He said: “I watched the fight and was very impressed with what he did and then it came to the end of the fight and they did the interview, the public wanted to hear that he would fight me and he avoided the question.
“It was a bit disappointing to be honest because it’s been such a long time building up over the years and he avoided the question like he didn’t want the fight so I had to get straight on social media and make everyone know I’m willing and ready to take the fight.
“Grow a pair and sign the contract big boy.”
Speculation has mounted that the duo had verbally agreed a two-fight deal worth around half a billion quid to get it on in 2021.
However, Oleksandr Usyk is now AJ’s mandatory challenger for the WBO title – but Fury believes the Watford-born boxer would give that belt up to make the biggest fight since 1974.
Fury said: “That doesn’t sound too bad but then again I don’t believe everything I see in the paper so we’ll see what’s going to go on.
“But let’s hope this fight happens, I’m willing to take the fight, I don’t know if they are.
“I’ve been willing to take the fight for the last five years and it’s not happened so far, but I’m optimistic.”
“All of these organisations will allow this fight – it’s the biggest one since Muhammad Ali fought George Foreman at Rumble in the Jungle. It’s a massive fight.
“Oleksandr Usyk is a mandatory – but if that belt has to be vacated then I’m sure they’re going to do it to make the biggest fight of our generation.
“I’m willing, I hope he’s willing and let’s give the fans the fight they really want to see.”
Despite Joshua’s devastating knockout performance against Pulev, undefeated Fury was not that impressed.
And he believes he has more than enough to get the win over Joshua and claim ‘immortality’.
He said: “No disrespect to Kubrat Pulev, he’s nearly 40-years-old and he hasn’t had a competitive fight since he fought Klitschko in 2014.
“He hasn’t been boxing regularly against high-level opposition and at 40-years-old he’s ready to put on his carpet slippers anyway.
“I’m not just saying it because he’s a rival of mine and going to be one of my opponents – I’ve said for a long time that I do believe Anthony Joshua is tailor-made for somebody with my style.
“I think it’ll be one of the most explosive and quickest fights we are going to see and I’m aiming to take him out inside four rounds.
“I said that about Deontay Wilder and not many people listened and I’ll say it again about Anthony Joshua.
“He’s standing in my way of total supremacy of my era and he’s the only one left I haven’t beaten.
“Immortality awaits, I’m one win away from it.”
