DILLIAN WHYTE claimed he twisted two ligaments in his foot after Tyson Fury “pushed” him over.

Whyte was knocked out by the WBC champion in April following a brutal right uppercut in round six.

Tyson Fury was accused by Dillian Whyte of pushing him to the floor

But Fury, 34, clearly shoved the challenger after the punch connected but referee Mark Lyson waved off the contest.

Whyte, 34, still protests that he should have been given until the count of ten to try and recover and that he was illegally pushed down.

He told Matchroom Boxing: “I think the fight obviously got stopped too early you know, I got hit with a good shot. It’s boxing, you get hurt.

“I’ve been down in fights before and obviously you get back up and obviously got hit with a good shot, pushed me over.

“When he pushed me over I ended up f***ing twisting two ligaments in my foot.”

Whyte was halted at the count of eight as he got to his feet dazed and confused while stumbling towards ref Lyson.

But per the rules, pushing an opponent is considered an illegal move, categorised alongside kicking, headbutting and biting.

It leaves Whyte, who returns next Saturday against 29-year-old Jermaine Franklin, feeling hard done by.

He said: “The boxing board didn’t follow the rules as well because if you go down, after the bell they’re not allowed to stop the fight.

“They’re allowed to send you to your corner, send the doctor intervene if you beat a ten count.

“They didn’t even do that they just stopped the fight you know which is a big, massive breach.”

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch comes with its own technique. Some punches need more power than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. A straight punch on the other side requires less power, but is more effective than other punches.

There are also many combinations. These are combinations made up of several punches that can be used together to achieve one goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer uses his body to protect himself against attacks. He does this by using his legs.

Legs

To defend against kicks, a boxer should use his legs. He raises his leg when he is hit with a kick and then moves away from the opponent. If the attacker is coming from the front, he will bend at the knees to avoid getting kicked on either side. If the attack is from the side, he will bend his knees to avoid being kicked on the side.

Elbows

Because elbow strikes inflict a lot of pain, they are very effective. An elbow strike can be delivered either directly or indirectly. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

Feet

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

Stances

Boxing effectively requires a boxer to have a good stance. The way he defends him will be dictated by his stance. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. There are many stances available to boxers. Here are the most commonly used ones:

Rotation

To increase his punching power, a boxer rotates when he throws a punch. Depending on what punch is being thrown, the speed of rotation varies.

Combinations

The effectiveness of a combination depends on the timing of each individual punch. A combination of strong and weak punches will produce a good result.

Spare parts

Sparring is a form of boxing that aims to improve your skills. During sparring sessions, a boxer trains his mind as well as his body. The goal of sparring is to learn to fight, and not to get hurt.
