TYSON FURY has reportedly tested negative for Covid-19 and will return to the UK after his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder on July 24 was postponed.

The Gypsy King was allegedly suffering with the disease but has now been given the all clear and will fight the Bronze Bomber on October 9.

According to journalist Dan Rafael, Fury has been given the all clear by his doctor to travel back to the UK after testing negative for Covid.

News of a Covid outbreak in the 32-year-old’s training camp broke in July, delaying the bout until further notice.

Although Fury was expected to recover before the fight, he would have missed several days of crucial training – giving Wilder an unfair advantage.

The reigning WBC heavyweight champion is yet to confirm his positive Covid test and has not commented on his health since the news broke.

But he has promised to come back stronger when he meets Wilder in October for a third time.

Fury said: “I wanted nothing more than to smash the big dosser on July 24, but I guess the beating will have to wait.

“Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight October 9 – and I will knock him spark out!”

Should the October bout go ahead as planned, it will be Fury’s first fight in 19 MONTHS – stopping Wilder to win the WBC crown in February 2020.

Co-promoter Frank Warren has expressed his frustration at the Brit’s wait to return to the ring.

He told BT Sport: “It’s looking some time in October, which is a great shame it’s been postponed, but it is what it is.

“Unfortunately, they in the camp and himself got tested positive for Covid. There’s nothing we can do about it.

“It’s the times we live in, so the fight is postponed. Pushed back. Very frustrating. Really frustrating for Tyson.

“By the time he gets into the ring, he will have been out for nearly 20 months. That’s a long, long time.”

And Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum has revealed the boxer delayed having his second vaccine dose because he didn’t want to risk falling ill before the fight.

Arum said: “He got vaccinated in Miami. He got the first shot.

“And then he said he didn’t want to get the second shot because he didn’t want to get sick so close to the fight. So, he got Covid instead.”

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, meanwhile, believes Fury’s fight with Wilder was never going to happen in July due to low ticket sales.

He said: “They sold no tickets. Basically, you could go online and check… This was going to do very, very poor pay per view numbers.”
