Tyson Fury told to fight released UFC heavyweight instead of Francis Ngannou by Nate Diaz in his new promotion

TYSON FURY has been told to fight a former UFC heavyweight by Nate Diaz.

The Gypsy King, 34, could be tempted with another venture away from boxing if the unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk cannot get finalised.

Tyson Fury could fight under MMA rules if his showdown with Oleksandr Usyk crashes

And a hybrid fight against Francis Ngannou appeared to be on the cards following the Cameroonian’s UFC contract expired.

But now Diaz, who has launched his own promotion Real Fight Inc, wants to see Fury take on a different MMA star.

The 37-year-old Californian tweeted: “Ben Rothwell vs Tyson Fury,” followed by a fist emoji and the Real Fight Twitter handle.

Rothwell, 41, is a 6ft 4ins 120kg heavyweight who won 39 of his 53 professional MMA bouts – appearing 17 times on UFC cards.

His most-recent fight was a round-one TKO defeat to Marcos Rogerio de Lima in November 2021.

But Diaz would like to see his fellow American fight Fury.

However, fans on Twitter were completely underwhelmed by the suggestion with various memes and gifs expressing their confusion.

Instead most supporters want Fury to take on Usyk – and Ngannou if that cannot be arranged.

Ngannou seemed willing to agree to Fury’s strange rules for their potential battle with 4oz gloves and Mike Tyson refereeing.

The Usyk showdown, though, would be the main attraction with all the world titles on the line.

Talks remain ongoing between the two camps but with Saudi Arabia struggling to secure the hosting rights, it could take place at Wembley on April 29.

How to box effectively

Boxing is the most loved sport in the world. It involves two people who attempt to knock each other out of their heads. The rules of boxing vary from country to country. There are three main types of boxing: Amateur boxing, Professional boxing, and Olympic boxing.

Amateur boxing is often practiced at school, college, or university. This type of boxing includes sparring sessions with padded gloves and without any protection. Amateur boxing matches usually consist of three rounds lasting five minutes each. There are many styles to amateur boxing like Kickboxing. Muay Thai. Taekwondo. Karate. Judo. Wrestling.

Boxing professionals are usually trained in clubs, gyms, or stadiums. They have protective equipment such as mouthpieces. Six rounds of professional boxing last four minutes each. There are many different types of professional Boxing such as Boxing, MMA, Kickboxing, Muay Thai or Taekwondo.

Olympic boxing takes place at the Olympics. Boxers are required to wear international standards-compliant protective gear. The competition lasts for eight rounds, each lasting three minutes. Olympic boxing can be divided into two types: Light Flyweight (Heavyweight) and Heavyweight (Light Flyweight).

The basic skills of boxing are:

  • Techniques for punching
  • Techniques for protecting yourself
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • The body moves
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Sparring

Punching Techniques

There are seven types: Left Hook (right hook), Right Hook (uppercut), Cross (cross), Straight, Overhand, Underhand. Each punch is different. Some punches need more power than others. An uppercut, for instance, requires tremendous strength. A straight punch, on the other hand requires less power and is quicker than other punches.

There are many combinations that can be used to punch. These are combinations which combine several punches in order to achieve a specific goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. An example of this is a left hook, followed by a right crossing. This will damage the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

A boxer protects himself by using his body. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

A boxer must use his legs to defend against kicks. He raises his leg when he is hit with a kick and then moves away from the opponent. To avoid being kicked on the sides, he bends at his knees when the attacker strikes from the front. If the attack comes from behind, however, he can stand straight up and block the kick by his foot.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very powerful because they inflict great pain. You can either deliver an elbow strike directly, or indirectly. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Hands

Boxers use their hands as a shield against incoming punches. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. Then they make contact with the attacker’s fist.

Knees

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

Feet

A boxer should not be afraid to respond to an attack. This will allow him to gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

Stances

To box effectively, a boxer must establish a stance. His stance will determine how he defends. It defines where he faces his opponent and how he positions his body. Boxers have many options for stances. Here are the most commonly used ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Moving your body

A boxer must change his position, speed and rhythm in order to win the fight. This requires changing your position, speed, and rhythm.

Rotation

A boxer will rotate his arm when he is throwing a punch. The rotation is done at different speeds depending on the type of punch.

Combinations

The timing of each punch determines the effectiveness of a combination. A combination is good if it starts with a strong punch then ends with a weaker one.

Spare parts

Sparring is a form of boxing that aims to improve your skills. Sparring is a training session that helps a boxer train his mind and body. Sparring is a way to learn how to fight without getting hurt.

You need to have patience and dedication in order to learn how boxing works. To become a better boxer, you must train hard and for a long time.
