TYSON FURY says he will ‘smash Deontay Wilder to bits’ – for a second time – when the pair clash in their trilogy on October 9.
The Gypsy King battered Wilder from pillar to post in February last year to hand the American his first ever defeat and bag the WBC heavyweight title.
It was sweet revenge for Fury having had to settle for a draw in their first clash despite most people thinking he should have won.
Now, making the first defence of his belt, Fury will be aiming to send Wilder a step closer to retirement.
Speaking on a zoom call to the media, the 33-year-old said: “It’s nearly that time of the year again where I take over Las Vegas, and it becomes the home of ‘The Gypsy King,’.
“And just remember that I plan to smash Deontay Wilder to bits….and I will.
“I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to this fight. I’m very motivated, focused, and determined and I can’t wait for October 9. I wish it was this weekend.
“I have to wait one more week until I get these big hands on Wilder for a third time.

“It’s one of the few heavyweight trilogies since Riddick Bowe and Evander Holyfield.
“I’m going to go all guns blazing, full out attack, all in victory, straight out of the door from round one until it finishes. It’s either going to be me or Wilder.
“I’ve never had a bad training camp, and I’m in the best shape of my life.
“I’m injury-free, which is the most important thing. I’m really looking forward to it, and I can’t wait.
“I hope he brings a better fight because [our] last fight was disappointing, to say the least.
“I trained for an absolute war, and it was a one-sided beatdown, so hopefully he can give me a challenge.”
Fury beating Wilder would have moved the all-Brit showdown against Anthony Joshua a step closer – had AJ not lost to Oleksandr Usyk last weekend.
But that defeat has left Fury ‘wounded’, but he refuses to slam the performance of his countryman.
He said: “Usyk did his job and good luck to him.
“I watched it, was I absolutely wounded he won? Yes.
“I wanted Joshua to win but he couldn’t do it and that’s not any of my business.
“I keep my nose out of everyone else’s business.
“Wilder is the most dangerous fighter out there and beats Joshua, Usyk and everyone else out there.”
AJ is leaping into an instant rematch aimed for March and claimed in the wreckage of his Tottenham defeat that he could still fight Fury without the three belts he lost at the weekend.
