UFC chief Dana White shuts down Jake Paul vs Jorge Masvidal and tells YouTuber to fight someone ‘your own size’

UFC president Dana White has told Jake Paul to forget about facing Jorge Masvidal and to ‘fight somebody your own size’.

The Problem Child has been angling for a fight with the UFC’s BMF after learning he’d tipped Tyron Woodley to win their boxing match.

But UFC bigwig White has no intention of allowing the under-contract Gamebred to enter the boxing world to take on the younger Paul brother.

He told the Australian Daily Telegraph: “Come on, Masvidal is 170 pounds. He likes 170 pounders. Go fight somebody your own size.”

White would like to see the former Disney star lock horns with ex-UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who is 2-0 as a boxer since being released by the promotion last November.

He continued: “Anderson Silva is not in contract, he’s 46 years old, that’s the age group you love to fight, and he’s your size, and he’s actually winning fights.

“If you look at Jake Paul’s history, Jake Paul either fights basketball players who have never fought, or he wants to fight washed-up older guys who haven’t fought in years.

“Anderson Silva has actually been boxing, he’s won some fights, he’s 46 years old, and he’s in your weight class. There you go, that’s a no brainer, fight Anderson Silva.”

Despite there being cash to be made with a Paul vs Masvidal PPV, White is refusing to change his stance on the fight.

He said: “You’re not gonna fight 170-pound Jorge Masvidal who’s ranked top 10 in the world.

“No. He fights here, he’s under contract with us. Go f*****g fight somebody your own size.

“He just fought Tyron Woodley. Tyron Woodley is 40 years old, hasn’t won a fight in three years, hasn’t knocked somebody out in his weight class in five years.

“That’s who Jake Paul wants to fight, and he barely got out of that fight.

“He barely won that one. Now you want to fight a guy who’s ranked in the top 10, that weighs 170 pounds, is still relevant in the fighting world when you have Anderson who’s not under contract with anybody and has just won two boxing matches.

“There you go. You’re welcome. I just made your next boxing match for you, but I bet you don’t see that one happening. Wanna bet?”

Paul, 24, registered a split decision victory over former UFC welterweight king Woodley in his last outing in August.

The social media star agreed to a rematch with The Chosen One on the condition he honoured their pre-fight bet and got ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattooed on his skin.

But he’s since moved on the fight, telling ESPN: “I’m over it.

“I’m leaving Tyron in the past.

“He didn’t live up to the bet — he didn’t get the tattoo. So, the rematch just doesn’t make sense anymore.”
