MIKE TYSON’S brutal power saw him win a Junior Olympics gold medal with an EIGHT-SECOND KO.

He might have been only 15-year-old, but there was nothing ‘tender’ about how Tyson dealt with unlucky opponent Joe Cortez.

It saw him win gold at the 1981 Games in North Carolina, US.

And it gave those watching a chilling insight into what was to come as Iron Mike went on to become one of the most ferocious boxers of all time.

Teenage Tyson came out flying against Cortez, instantly dominating his opponent.

A vicious right hook was followed by a shuddering left before ten seconds had gone, and Cortez was sprawled on the floor.

The referee didn’t even bother with a count and waved it all off.

Boxing fans were treated to seeing the great man back in the ring in December when he fought in an exhibition against fellow Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr.

Their scrap was scored a draw, with Tyson adamant he will continue to box in these kind of fights going forward.

And his next match-up could be the trilogy against old foe Evander Holyfield.

SunSport understands the veteran pair, with a combined age of 112, are in talks over a trilogy fight taking place in Dubai.

Following the success of Tyson vs Jones Jr in Los Angeles, the Baddest Man on the Planet is now fielding offers from some of the richest places on earth for his follow-up fight.

Anthony Joshua landed a £100million site fee to beat Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia in 2019 and the UFC is enjoying a great lockdown run in Abu Dhabi, where all Covid-19 rules are followed and mega-money can still be made.

So, with 54-year-old Hangover star Tyson proving himself to still be a massive attraction, there is plenty of dosh on the table for another dance, this time in the desert.

The American heavyweights went toe-to-toe twice, with Holyfield winning the thrilling November 1996 original with an 11th-round stoppage.

The rematch, seven months later, is one of the most infamous in history after Tyson was disqualified for biting off a chunk of the Real Deal’s ear.
