The ex-WBC heavyweight champion landed a trademark right hand with Helenius out for the count and needing medical assistance.

Paul reacted by uploading a video on social media, with an open mouth and nothing to say.

The American, 25, may use it as inspiration for his next fight, against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, on October 29 in Arizona.

Wilder, 36, was returning after a year out the ring, following a brutal KO loss to Tyson Fury, 34, in their epic Las Vegas trilogy bout.

But the Bronze Bomber wasted no time in announcing himself back to the heavyweight division as Helenius, 38, lasted just under three minutes.

Wilder said: “Deontay Wilder is back. The excitement in the heavyweight division is back.

“There’s no heavyweight division without Deontay Wilder.”

Boxing is based on the following skills:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Movement of the body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven types of punches available: Left Hook and Right Hook, Cross, Cross, Straight, Underhand, Overhand, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, Cross, Straight, and Overhand. Each punch comes with its own technique. Some punches are more powerful than others. An example of this is an uppercut, which requires tremendous force. However, a straight punch is much more powerful and faster than other punches.

There are also various punching combinations. These are combinations made up of several punches that can be used together to achieve one goal. One combination can have many parts. For example, a left hook followed by a right cross will cause damage to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

Boxers use their bodies to defend themselves against attack. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

Boxers should use their legs to defend against kicks. When he receives a kick, he raises his leg and moves away from the attacker. If the attacker is coming from the front, he will bend at the knees to avoid getting kicked on either side. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. You can either deliver an elbow strike directly, or indirectly. Directly means you hit your opponent directly with your forearm. While indirectly, it means you hit him with another section of your arm.

Hands

Boxers use both their hands and arms to prevent incoming blows. To do so, they raise their fists above their head and move them towards the direction of the attack. They then make contact with their attacker’s fist.

Knees

Boxers should bend their knees when receiving blows to the abdomen, stomach, or chest. Knee strikes can be used to defend yourself.

Feet

When attacked, a boxer should step back and deliver counter-attacks. This will help him gain distance from his opponent. Also, boxers must maintain their balance while delivering counter-attacks.

Stances

To box effectively, a boxer must establish a stance. His stance will determine how he defends. It determines where he will face his opponent and how he will position his body. Boxers have many stances to choose from. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • A low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Moving your body

A boxer must change his position, speed and rhythm in order to win the fight. This involves changing position, speed and rhythm.

Rotation

Rotating his arm to increase the puncher’s reach is a key part of boxing. The rotation is done at different speeds depending on the type of punch.

Combinations

The timing of each individual punch affects the effectiveness or failure of a combination. A combination of strong and weak punches will produce a good result.

Spare parts

Sparring is an exercise session to improve boxing skills. Boxers learn to train their mind and bodies during sparring sessions. Sparring, in conclusion, is about learning how to fight and not getting hurt.

Learning to box takes dedication and patience. To become a better boxer, you must train hard and for a long time.
