FLOYD MAYWEATHER was caught with a brutal right hand by Mikuru Asakura before going on to knockout the Japanese star.

The boxing legend produced a third KO in his latest money-spinning exhibition bout yesterday – in front of old rival Manny Pacquiao.

The win earnt “Money” another £20million.

The self-proclaimed “Best Ever” was forced to evade heavy artillery coming his way early on in the scrap.

Mayweather did pick up the pace towards the end of the opening round as he started to fire off his famous piston-like right hand.

The second proved to be all out action with the American starting on the front foot.

Mayweather, 45, landed a series of rear hand shots, both to head and body.

But Asakura, 30, fired back and even landed a perfect counter right hook, which snapped Mayweather’s head back.

Now slow-motion footage of the punch has emerged which has seemingly revealed how much it caught the icon off-guard.

But it did seem to spark Mayweather into action with the star soon landing a huge right of his own.

It crashed into the side of Asakura’s head, seemingly affecting his equilibrium and leaving him unable to continue.

Pacquiao, 43, who retired last year, entered the ring after the knockout and embraced with Mayweather.

It came after Mayweather said: “Another legend right here, eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Great champion. Unbelievable world champion.”

Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after beating ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor, 34, in ten rounds before embarking on a series of exhibition bouts. He is set to face YouTuber Deji, 25, next in Dubai in November but said he will be back in the Far East soon.
