The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the legendary spinner. The BCCI expressed their condolences and offered thoughts and prayers to Bedi's family and fans during this difficult time.

A Storied Career and Legacy

Bedi captained the Indian cricket team in 22 out of his 67 tests and took an impressive 266 wickets. He made his debut in 1966 against West Indies and ended his test cricket career in 1979 against England at The Oval. Bedi also played English county cricket for Northamptonshire and achieved a total of 1560 first-class wickets.

Remembering One of the Finest Spin Bowlers in History

Bedi, a slow left-arm orthodox bowler, is regarded as one of the greatest spin bowlers to have ever played the game. Former Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani praised Bedi's versatility, stating that he could bowl six different deliveries in an over. Legendary Australian cricketer Sir Donald Bradman described Bedi as a "real study for cricket connoisseur" and acknowledged him as one of the finest bowlers of his kind.
