FANS can start requesting tickets for cricket next summer as England hope to have capacity crowds across nine venues.
The ECB have opened the ballot for the 2021 men’s internationals with the back-up of a Ticket Refund Promise scheme if the impact of Covid-19 persists.
England fulfilled their full schedule this summer but all matches were played behind closed doors at Old Trafford and the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
Now, with Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India due to visit, the ECB have unveiled a schedule using all international grounds with, ideally, spectators pouring through the turnstiles.
Details of ticket ballots for men’s matches are on each host venue’s website. Results are expected in December with tickets on general sale from January 12.
Most tickets bought for this summer’s matches can be rolled over to 2021.
ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said: “While Covid means there is still a great deal of uncertainty, we hope to welcome back fans safely next year and bring that unique atmosphere.”
England all-rounder Moeen Ali added: “It would be amazing if fans could come back next year.
“It’s huge – you realise how much you miss them, the extra motivation they give when you’re playing.”
The ECB also confirmed they will play two T20 internationals against Pakistan in Karachi on October 14 and 15 next year on the way to the Twenty20 World Cup in India.
It will be the first time England have played in Pakistan since 2005.
Ali, 33, who is of Pakistani descent believes that this is a huge moment for cricket heading into the future.
He added: “It’s a massive moment for cricket going forward.
“Having been there not so long ago, it was an amazing experience to play the there and I’m sure Pakistan have gone all out to host that (series). We can’t wait to go there in the future.
“I think it was going to happen anyway, but I think it’s right we go back after such a long time for the game itself and for Pakistan and cricket in the country.”
