Confusion on the Field
The Australian cricket team, leading by 60 runs, returned from lunch on the third day of the match at the MCG on Thursday. However, as they prepared to resume play, the two umpires in the middle refused to start the game due to the absence of TV umpire Richard Illingworth, who was stuck in a lift.
As Australian batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith stood around bemused, fourth umpire Phil Gillespie rushed from the boundary to take Illingworth's place in the box. After a seven-minute delay, Illingworth finally emerged and play resumed.
Controversy Continues
This wasn't the only umpire-related controversy during the match. Later in the day, umpire Joel Wilson had to be replaced by Gillespie for one over due to an unspecified reason.
Australia ended day three in Melbourne on 187 for 6, leading Pakistan by 241 runs.
Embarrassing Fan Moment
In addition to the umpire mishaps, two fans attending the match were caught frolicking in the crowd, leaving them thoroughly embarrassed.
