Melbourne Stars Wicket Keeper Sam Harper Injured in Training Incident

A shocking incident took place during a cricket training session when Melbourne Stars wicket keeper Sam Harper was hit on the head by a ball, resulting in his hospitalization. The 27-year-old athlete was conscious throughout the ambulance ride and is currently in a stable condition.

Extent of Injury Yet to be Determined

After the incident, Harper underwent further scans to assess the full extent of his injury. The Melbourne Stars released a statement, requesting privacy for Harper and promising to provide updates as they become available.

Previous Concussion Incidents

This is not the first time Harper has suffered a head injury. In January 2020, he experienced a heavy concussion when he collided with Hobart Hurricanes bowler Nathan Ellis during a Big Bash League match. In 2017, he was also hospitalized with a concussion after being hit by a bat while keeping in a Sheffield Shield game.

Unfortunate Absence from Upcoming Match

Due to his recent injury, Harper will be unable to play in the upcoming match against the Sydney Sixers on Saturday.
