He was in visible pain and had difficulty walking, prompting a physio to come onto the pitch and tape up his ankle. Despite attempting to continue playing, Pandya ultimately walked off the pitch to receive further treatment, leaving teammate Virat Kohli to bowl the rest of the over. It was later announced that he would not be returning to play for the remainder of the innings.
