Hero Jimmy roars back to save day

JAMES ANDERSON believes his return can help save England from humiliation in
the one-day series.

Anderson, Englands Ashes bowling hero with 24 wickets, will face Australia
tomorrow after his two-week mid-tour break at home.

The Lancashire swinger joins the seven-match series with England already 3-0
down against the Aussies and showing alarming signs of mental fatigue.

And England still have injury concerns. Spinner Graeme Swann will not play
until game No 6 in Sydney next Wednesday, while pacemen Stuart Broad and Tim
Bresnan are out for the rest of the series. Kevin Pietersen, who missed
Sundays defeat in Sydney, is expected to be fit tomorrow.

Anderson, 28, said: Id like to think Ill bring some energy with both my
bowling and fielding. I dont think we were far away in the first three
games we can still turn round the momentum.

Anderson was allowed home on January 8 immediately after England completed
their 3-1 Ashes triumph. It was his second visit back to the UK following
the birth of his second child in December.

Englands players will have just three nights at home when they land on
February 8 before departing for the seven-week World Cup in Asia.

Anderson said: It was great to get a rest and to see my family. I feel
refreshed, my body feels recovered and my mind feels sharper.

I felt very run down at the end of the Ashes and I lost my voice. I might
have broken down physically if Id continued playing.

If we get beat 7-0 here it wont do our confidence any good going into a
World Cup and will mean were not in good form as a team.

So were looking to turn things round in this next match. We have four huge
games that can start us off towards the World Cup.

England coach Andy Flower will be on Indias wanted list when Gary Kirsten
quits after the World Cup.
