Moment ‘Shane Warne’ romps with ‘Liz Hurley’ in steamy new TV series on cricket legend’s life

THE stars of a new TV series on Shane Warne’s life turned up the heat as they recreated a steamy sex scene between him and Liz Hurley.

Alex Williams, 33, and Brit actress Shanti Kali depicted the lust between the late cricketer and his supermodel ex for the romp.

The latest episode of the explosive Warnie docuseries transported viewers back in time to the beginning of the couple’s notorious relationship.

Warne and Hurley were infamously caught smooching outside of a London hotel after some heavy petting in his £1,750-a-night suite.

Fans of the new series were left open-mouthed after watching the adaptation of the pair’s budding romance in Monday’s episode.

Kali, embodying Hurley‘s irresistible allure, first takes a bath while Williams waits for her on the bed looking like he’s won the jackpot.

“I can’t believe this. It’s gotta be a dream. Liz Hurley,” he gushes in a voiceover.

She snipes back with a sultry response of: “Oh, it’s quite real. Trust me,” while the pair roll around on the bed with each other.

Kali, dressed in lingerie, is then seen romping with her co-star before a fire alarm suddenly interrupts their hotel room tryst.

Despite her lips being firmly pressed against the cricketers she manages to ask: “What is that hideous noise?”

But the smitten sports star brushes off the disturbance, saying: “It’s a false alarm. Just… don’t listen. It happens all the time.”

He is soon brought back down to earth when Kali reminds him that “being burnt to a crisp would not be ideal.”

The couple then quickly throw their clothes on and run into the street, which sets the scene for Warne and Hurley‘s infamous kiss.

Their romance was revealed to the world in 2010 after they were snapped by paparazzi sharing a snog outside the London hotel.

But rather than flying the cast over to the UK capital, producers instead recreated the moment at Melbourne‘s Windsor Hotel.

Kali, an international model, and Williams then passionately kiss against the wall.

She told The Herald Sun: “It took a number of takes for technical reasons so there was ample time for onlookers to notice the whole spectacle.”

WHIRLWIND ROMANCE

The actress said she had watched “pretty much everything I could get my hands on” to nail Hurley‘s mannerisms in the series.

“She’s just such a grounded, hardworking, witty and gorgeous human being,” Kali added.

Warne and Hurley started dating shortly after she split from her husband Arun Nayar in 2010, after they met at the races.

After the images of their open-air canoodling were published, the Austin Powers star wrote a tweet revealing she had split from her hubby a “few months ago.”

The pair’s relationship quickly hotted up, with Warne proposing “on impulse” in 2011 while out on a yacht in the Med.

But they called time on their engagement in 2013, suggesting the media frenzy that followed them and conflicting schedules were to blame.

Warne said: “We couldn’t go anywhere else because we’d just get 30-40 people, photographers, news crews, everywhere we went.

“We had seven cars following us and a helicopter over our head just following us, running red lights, cutting off in front of us.”

‘SAD’ SPLIT

But the cricket legend also reflected on his romance with Hurley as the “happiest time of his life.”

He admitted in 2020 that he “still cares” about his ex-fiancee and was “sad” about the split.

Warne has three kids – Brooke, Jackson and Summer – with his wife Simone Callahan, who he was married to from 1995 until 2005.

Hurley famously dated Hugh Grant in the 1990s, before going on to marry Arun Nayar.

The actress has one son, Damian, fathered by American businessman Steve Bing.

The Warnie TV series will depict Shane’s phenomenal rise and spectacular public falls from grace.

Another sex scene in the show previously hit the headlines after Williams and Marny Kennedy, 29, ended up in the hospital.

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS

The pair, playing the roles of Warne and his wife Simone, were left bandaged and bruised after a mishap while filming a steamy scene.

Marny told Australia’s Daily Telegraph: “It was during a little makeout scene from when they (Shane and Simone) were younger.

“We were going down a corridor and we were meant to push into the bedroom and land on the bed, but we both completely missed the bed.”

The actress says she broke her wrist while Williams cracked the back of his head open.

Warne – who died of a heart attack last year aged 52 while on vacation in Thailand – had an estate valued at £12million.

Pals tried to resuscitate the iconic Aussie cricketer in vain after he was discovered unresponsive in a luxury Thai villa.

More than 50,000 people attended a state funeral at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where his friends and family gave emotional speeches about their father, brother and good friend.

His funeral service had an estimated 300million tune in from India alone, having also been broadcast to hundreds of millions in Pakistan, Bangladesh and the UK.

Warne was buried just south of Melbourne later that month, leaving a massive personal estate and wealth to be divided among his family.
