Dhoni's Unrecognisable New Look
Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni has undergone a major hair transformation, leaving fans in awe and calling it a "lucky charm" for the Indian cricket team. A viral post on Instagram showcases Captain Cool's new hairstyle, reminiscent of his early days as a player.
Inspired by a Fan-Made Portrait
Aalim Hakim, a famous celebrity hairstylist, recently shared pictures of the latest haircut he gave to Dhoni. The images reveal the 42-year-old sporting long, wavy hair with streaks. Hakim was inspired by a fan-made portrait of the former Indian skipper, which fascinated him and prompted the hair transformation.
Returning to Dhoni's Classic Long Hair Look
Hakim explained that he has always been a huge fan of Dhoni's classic long hair look and requested him to grow his hair out so he could recreate the fan-made image. "We decided to create a new texture for the timeless hairstyle," Hakim said. This isn't the first time Dhoni has sported long hair, as he rocked a shoulder-length hairstyle when he first started playing for the Indian national team.
A Fan-Favorite Style
Dhoni's long locks gained immense popularity during the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, where he led the team to their maiden title in the tournament. Since then, many fans have tried to emulate his long hair look. Dhoni eventually changed his hairstyle but has now brought back his signature long hair for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.
A "Lucky Charm" for India
Fans are hailing Dhoni's new hair transformation as a "lucky charm" for the Indian cricket team's journey in the ICC World Cup. The men in blue will kick off the tournament with a match against the Australian team on Sunday, October 8.
