THE T20 World Cup is finally here after a one-year delay.

Once a frequent fixture on the cricket calendar, the tournament has not been played since 2016.

West Indies are the current T20 world champions

In that competition, Carlos Brathwaite’s four 6’s off Ben Stokes’ final over was enough West Indies the title against a distraught England.

The world’s eight top sides have pre-qualified for this year’s tournament while a further eight will have the chance to secure the four remaining berths through qualifying.

Who is hosting the T20 World Cup?

The T20 World Cup was initially scheduled to be held in India.

However, due to concerns over the course of the Covid pandemic there, it has been moved to the United Arab Emirates.

Some qualifying matches are also being played in Oman.

Virat Kohli and Eoin Morgan will look to captain India and England respectively to glory
