Watch awkward moment Piers Morgan asks Jos Buttler if World Cup win was better than sex in front of his wife Louise

PIERS MORGAN awkwardly asked Jos Buttler if England winning the World Cup last summer felt better than sex… in front of his wife and daughter.

The wicketkeeper-batsman, 29, starred in the final as he excelled with the bat in both the 50 overs and Super Over.

Buttler then sealed the famous victory at Lord’s as he whipped off the bails to run out Martin Guptill.

It was England’s first-ever 50-over World Cup win as the players erupted with joy on the famous turf of the Home Of Cricket.

Looking back on the gloriously sunny day last June, cricket-mad Morgan was interviewing Buttler at his family home via video-link.

And the Good Morning Britain host awkwardly asked Buttler if the win at Lord’s was better than sex… in front of wife Louise and daughter Georgia Rose, born in April 2019.

BETTER THAN SEX?

Morgan said: “I recently asked Eoin Morgan if that moment was better than sex and he said, without hesitation: ‘Yes’.

“I know he didn’t have his wife there and you do – but I’m going to ask you the same question.”

With both Louise and Jos clearly taken aback, they let out an awkward giggle before Buttler joked: “No, it was a close second, I’d say.”

At the time of victory, Morgan tweeted how it was the “highlight of 2019”.

Despite Buttler’s heroics, hitting 59 in the first innings and hitting some crucial runs in the Super Over, the hero of the day was Ben Stokes.

The all-rounder played a perfectly-timed 84 not out as England aimed to chase down 242.

With the scores level – thanks to a bizarre six runs from Stokes, including four overthrows – the match went to a Super Over.

Jofra Archer bowled the decisive set of six and brilliantly restricted them after the Kiwis’ flying start.
