TikTok become shirt sponsors for Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham after Euros advertising drive

TIKTOK will sponsor the shirts of Wrexham, the club’s Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have announced.

The actors took over the National League side in February.

They even invested money into the Welsh side one month before the deal was finalised so the club could spend in the January transfer window.

Now, the celebrity duo have secured a two-year kit sponsorship with social media app TikTok.

McElhenney, creator of sitcom ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’, said: “We are announcing our new front of kit sponsor.”

Deadpool actor Reynolds added: “I wonder who it could be.”

Hairclub, WWE, Laughing Man Coffee Company, Blockbuster, Panam, Philadelphia cheese, Enron, Franken Berry, Mint Mobile, Theranos and De Lorean Motor Company all flash up on screen.

But the video ends with the TikTok logo along with McElhenney and Reynolds’ usernames.

The app, where short videos are created, have been sponsoring the delayed European Championships.

But their next move will be all the way down in the fifth tier of the English football

Nick Tran, Global Head of Marketing at TikTok, said: “TikTok is uniquely positioned at the centre of entertainment, technology and the creator community to help bring Wrexham AFC’s story to life to global audiences.

“With the growth of football clubs, players and trends on TikTok, joining Rob and Ryan in returning Wrexham AFC to the English Football League was a natural choice for us.

“We are proud to play a small part in championing the return of Wrexham AFC to the top-flight of football and sharing the journey with the town of Wrexham, our community, and fans everywhere, in ways only TikTok can.”
