ANDER HERRERA has lashed out at the Manchester United board for prioritising business over football.

The Spanish midfielder, 30, called time on his Old Trafford career in the summer, joining Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

And Herrera revealed it’s given him a new lease of life as the Ligue 1 giants focus purely on football – and aren’t distracted by the business side of things.

The two-cap Spain international admitted he was happy at United, but confessed football didn’t appear to be the board’s No1 priority.

Herrera told French magazine So Foot: I was very happy at that incredible club. I am very grateful to the supporters. Frankly, I was immensely happy in Manchester.

“But at the club, there were times when I felt that football was not considered the most important thing.

When asked if he was referring to the business of football, Herrera was edgy in his reply, saying: I will not say it.

“That does not come out of my mouth. I dont know, but football was not the most important thing in Manchester.”

Herrera said it is a world away from his current club PSG – who are 100 per cent committed to the sport.

The Spaniard added: I cannot talk about what was happening in previous seasons because I was not there.

“But since Im here, what I see is that Im in a club that thinks only and exclusively about football.

And I say it sincerely because sometimes, seen from the outside, PSG can have a glamorous side that can irritate some.

“But here, we sweat, we train, we work.

“Football, football, football… [sporting director] Leonardo [Araujo] is there every day.

“I do not want to compare [United to PSG]. All I know is that here, I feel like Im breathing football on all sides. And I like it.”
